Ancillary Services
Radiology is staffed by Radiology Technologists licensed by the State
of Nebraska. Each technologist is highly experienced in producing quality
X-rays on patients of all ages, newborn through geriatric. They also have
training in the performance of DEXA scans. This enables our physicians to
detect and treat osteoporosis and osteopenia through bone density measurement. Laboratory
is staffed by Medical Technologists certified by the American Society of
Clinical Pathologists. The lab is inspected biannually by the State of
Nebraska under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act to perform High
Complexity Testing of body fluids. We offer a broad range of laboratory
tests which enable our physicians to diagnose and treat patients more
efficiently. Highly specialized tests are performed by drawing specimens
and sending them to
a National Reference Laboratory
or St. Francis
Medical Center in Grand Island. The technologists also monitor the
collection of urine drug screens and are certified to perform Breath Alcohol
Testing according to the requirements of the Department of Transportation in
order for companies to promote a drug free work place.
Nurses Station
is staffed by both RNs and LPNs licensed by the State of Nebraska and a
Respiratory Therapist. They
administer all injections and assist physicians in minor surgical
procedures. Through their expertise patients are able to receive
intravenous medications and fluid replacement therefore avoiding hospitalization
for mild cases of dehydration. By frequent inservices provided by
pediatric pulmonologists, the nurses are proficient in assessing pulmonary
functions which enables the physician to determine the need for inhalation
therapy. By providing breathing treatments to the patient while at the
Clinic, the physician can monitor the patient's response to the treatment which
often times prevents the need for hospitalization.
Obstetrric & Gynecologic
Ultrasounds are performed by our highly experienced OB/GYN Physicians. Real Time 3-D images enhance diagnostic capabilities as well as providing well defined
"baby pictures"!
Wagoner Pharmacy is
staffed by a full time Registered Pharmacist. This provides a convenience
to our patients by enabling prescriptions to be filled while at the clinic and
eliminates the need for an additional stop before going home. The
pharmacist also provides a resource to our physicians in preventing the
occurrence of drug interactions. Practice Guidelines
IN ORDER TO PROVIDE TIMELY AND EFFICIENT PATIENT CARE, AND KEEP OUR FEES AS LOW AS POSSIBLE, WE EMPLOY THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES. "No Shows"
Missed appointments without prior notification are considered "No Show" appointments. In the event of the First and Second No Shows, you will receive a letter of notification advising you of the No Shows. In the event of Three No Shows or missed appointments, Grand Island Clinic will no longer provide patient care services. The patient will be discharged from the practice.
"Late Arrivals"
Late arrival for an already scheduled appointment leads to inadequate time to accommodate the remaining patients on the schedule. As such, later arrivals of greater than 15 minutes may not be able to be seen, depending on the time available. In addition, those patients who are on the schedule and here at. the assigned time will be seen first. We will try to accommodate late appointments if time permits.
"Cancellations"
Cancellations of appointments with less than 2 hours notice are considered "No Shows." We are aware that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may necessitate the cancellation of an appointment; however, a pattern of repetitive scheduling followed by cancellation will be treated as "No Shows." Late cancellation of appointments may prohibit other patients from being seen in a timely fashion. We will attempt a reminder call 24 hours prior to routine appointments. If we are unable to reach you in person, we will leave a message.
"Billing"
Grand Island Clinic requires co-pay at the time of service. It is your responsibility to be aware of the limits of your insurance benefits. You will be responsible for your portion of the visit the day of your appointment. If requests for payments fail to settle an overdue balance, your account will be referred to a collection agency.
"Treating Minors"
Patients who are 18 years old, or younger, must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian. If not, the parent must give written or verbal consent to the clinic for person accompanying on their behalf.
"Prescription Refills"
Call your preferred pharmacy for refill requests. If refill authorization is needed, the pharmacy will contact your physician electronically. Prescription refills are addressed during office hours only. |
